Stars from me: 5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/readerwitch.com\/2018\/09\/06\/force-of-nature\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a recent post<\/a> I mentioned the wild places I go to. Today I took one of my books along. Things like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">No, your facial cream doesn\u2019t work. It\u2019s a scam. At best it glues microscopic wrinkles straight for a few moments.<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Homeopathy is the hugest scam ever! It\u2019s unbelievable that its promoters aren\u2019t prosecuted. (That\u2019s when I usually hear stories how homeopathy helped someone. In reality it was either placebo or the time just came to get better.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Omega 3 is a scam that started from the result of one single tiny biased research that doesn\u2019t even qualify as a real research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">I could also tell you lots of hilarious stories behind those \u201cdetoxing treatments\u201d but Ben Goldacre has a talent for entertaining audience with science so it&#8217;s better to hear those stories from him.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_media-7\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-media-7\" style=\"width: 2250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-332\" src=\"https:\/\/readerwitch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/img-114e3f2ed1b55b518ec4eeb08f2cf068-v-01.jpeg\" alt=\"IMG-114e3f2ed1b55b518ec4eeb08f2cf068-V-01.jpeg\" width=\"2250\" height=\"4000\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-media-7\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">I can instead make you laugh with this photo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\">I\u2019ve learned tons of useful information from the book. There are references to scientific work and research behind each finding. It means you can actually check why the facts from the book are true, unlike statements from advertisers or folklore. I haven\u2019t managed to persuade any single person though. They continue to invest into things that at best won\u2019t help them and at worst will hurt them. They refuse to read <em>Bad Science<\/em> or look for scientific information somewhere else. Maybe ignorance feels safer. If you can\u2019t see you are wrong, you might believe you are always right and thus nothing bad will ever happen to you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Maybe it will be different this time. Now I have the blog (\u2757\u2757\u2757\ud83d\ude0d). This post can reach someone who\u2019s already suspecting some foul play in all the fashionable treatments, supplements and cosmetics. If you are the one looking for answers, read <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2wYvUmY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Bad Science<\/em><\/a>.
