How are the first days of the year going? I totally understand you about getting extra lbs. I think it probably happens to everybody during these celebrations. It definitely happened to me too :))

I haven’t read The Mermaid yet, but I want to. I’ll still give it a fair shot. 😀

My time off was WONDERFUL. I relaxed, I reaed three books in one week, I didn’t have to commute to work, and I gained 5 lbs because I ate too many cookies. (Okay, that last part wasn’t AS wonderful. Thank goodness Zumba has started up again!) Now I’m catching up on my blog life after taking a little break. It was nice to step away for a bit, but I missed you and the other bloggers in my life! 🙂 Glad to be back.

Hahaha, well, that just matches the overall picture, don’t you think? I mean The Miniaturist. You disliked Melmoth too (while I loved it). I’m sorry it slipped my mind right now, did you read The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock? Because now I think you’d hate it too. That’s the side of our tastes that doesn’t match. But it matches completely when it comes to kind, heart-warming books, like A Man Called Ove or The Rosie Project.

I’m definitely one who has been celebrating Christmas, and taking some much-needed time off from the Interwebs for the holiday. 🙂 Catching up on lots of posts and emails now!

I loved A MAN CALLED OVE. I think it’s funny to have the cat in the photo because of how Ove felt about cats. “Cat Annoyance” is one of my favorite phrases, lol.

Also, looking forward to reading your review of THE MINIATURIST. I couldn’t stand that one even though it has an insanely gorgeous book cover. 😀

Hi Bella! Happy Christmas to you too! That’s my first Christmas in the blogging community and so it’s the first Christmas that I actually feel, because of all the people around. Even though they are online, I can feel the atmosphere.

Thank you Nicki. I’m trying. I love photography. In fact, I once had a photography teacher who told me that even a rusty nail dreams of being beautiful in a photo. I’m not sure if that idea shaped my attitude, but I’m trying to take beautiful photos of any object, and of books too, of course.
